Do you naturally seek out big risk, big reward opportunities?
Are you interested in sticking it to the status-quo, yet capable of taking direction, whatever the dangers or degree of common sense?
Have you always had an attraction for extreme personalities?
Consider a career as a henchperson! Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and around weapons of all kinds. No experience necessary, will train right candidate.
Employment type: Contractor
Compensation: Dependent on performance, market conditions, and the caprices of a known psychopath.
In spite of the geeky little nod above, I’m not really talking about this job:
Some are no doubt drawn to the career for the promise of a payoff too big to be legal when the evil schemes go right, some dream of taking over the evil organization, and others fall into the job for the reason so many of us do, because supervillains control 90% of the economy, and you gotta eat somehow.
And the payoffs? That’s the kicker. In this high risk, high reward scenario, it doesn’t matter how high the reward is or how moderately high the risk seems, because the deck is stacked. This is a fictional job, and the vast majority of fictional villains who employ henchpeople never win. This takes your commission to zero, but wait, it gets worse! Guess who the boss will blame when things go wrong?
